Istanbul
After training in India since February we are taking the first ever exposure trip by the senior national team to Istanbul, Turkey in preparation for the Asian Basketball Championships. With great anticipation we boarded the plane on July 19 in New Delhi and landed in Turkey 6 hours later. Our host is Utopia Sports and they have done a great job of putting together a productive training experience. We have had 4 practices so far and look forward to our first exhibition game tomorrow. Our plans are to train each day, including 4 exhibition games. We will plan on doing some sightseeing as a team on a couple of our less busy days. We will be here until we fly to Manila, Philippines on July 29. I will be blogging about our experience when our time here in Istanbul is coming to the end.
